This learning resource involves a series of exploration stations focused on developing students' understanding and skills with decimals to the hundredths place. Students will engage in activities that include shading decimal grids to represent specific decimal values, measuring classroom objects in centimeters to write their lengths as decimals, comparing decimals using mathematical symbols, and converting fractions to their decimal form. The stations encourage collaboration among students, assigning roles such as Shader, Checker, Measurer, Recorder, and Leader, to develop both individual and group problem-solving strategies. Additional activities involve solving real-world word problems, placing decimals on a number line, and sequencing a set of decimals from least to greatest. The resource concludes with a reflection section, prompting students to evaluate their most challenging station and the strategies that helped them succeed.
