Original Promptadding and subtracting within 20
This resource focuses on using a number line to teach students how to add and subtract whole numbers up to 20. It includes worked examples that illustrate how to perform these operations visually, allowing students to understand the concept of 'hopping' forward for addition and hopping back for subtraction. Guidance is provided through three main sections: 'Worked Examples', where calculations are demonstrated; 'Guided Practice', with initial problems to solve; 'Independent Practice', consisting of problems for students to solve on their own; and a 'Mastery Challenge' section that offers more advanced problems to further reinforce their understanding.
