This lab activity focuses on exploring changes in matter, specifically distinguishing between physical and chemical changes through hands-on experiments. Students will conduct three stations: dissolving sugar in water to observe a physical change, reacting vinegar with baking soda to witness a chemical reaction, and placing metal in acid to experience another chemical change. Each station includes observation tables for recording the physical state, clarity, and various indicators such as gas production, temperature changes, and precipitate formation. The ultimate goal is for students to understand and categorize each observed change as either physical or chemical based on defined criteria.
