This learning resource focuses on understanding four-digit numbers and their place values. Students will learn to identify the value of digits in the thousands, hundreds, tens, and ones places, as well as represent four-digit numbers using base-ten block notation. The resource includes a worked example, guided practice with practical scenarios like school supplies, and exercises for writing numbers in expanded form. It encourages independent practice by having students draw base-ten blocks and engage in critical thinking by comparing the values of digits in different contexts. Through these activities, learners will develop a solid foundation in number representation and value identification up to the thousands place.
