This resource provides a practical exercise in architectural design and scale calculation, focusing on how to represent a physical structure on paper. It guides students through the process of using a specific scale, where 1/2 inch represents 1 foot, to convert the dimensions of a shed (10 feet by 12 feet) into scaled measurements. Students will perform calculations for the scaled width and length, sketch the corresponding rectangle, and reflect on their confidence in the scale calculation. This hands-on approach not only reinforces mathematical skills but also introduces concepts of architecture and planning.
