The learning objective is for students to identify and correct these sentences using appropriate punctuation and conjunctions. The document outlines a step-by-step method for 'sentence surgery' where students learn to break down lengthy sentences, replace conjunctions like 'then' with 'stop signs' (periods), and create healthier, clearer sentences. It includes practice exercises, a professional word bank for effective sentence connection, and engaging challenges for peer corrections to reinforce learning and enhance their writing capabilities.
