This resource aims to help students master the narrative structure using the STORIES framework. By guiding students through the process of writing a short story of 140-190 words, it emphasizes important elements such as sensory details, character emotions, and dialogue. The STORIES framework includes crucial components: Start (the hook), Time & Place (the setting), On Stage (the characters), Rising Action (events leading to the main problem), Issue (the conflict), Explosion (the climax), and Solution (the resolution). Additionally, it offers vocabulary banks with action verbs, emotion words, and sensory descriptors to enhance their stories. Students will engage in guided practice through planning templates and writing prompts, and will ultimately develop their stories while ensuring that all required narrative elements are present and effectively utilized.
