Are you looking for an activity to build classroom community and make everyone feel welcome? Then download this BUNDLE Back to School Getting to Know You Activities for Middle School Community! This resource includes a choice board that supports student voice and choice, interactive dice games, and a fun brainstorming activity to learn about each other!
CHOICE BOARD
Students can choose between various activities to share about themselves. They can choose between activities such as creating a crossword puzzle, a collage, or writing a letter all about themselves. Students can then share their creations with each other, the whole class, or maybe just with you.
DICE GAMES
This fun and interactive game is similar to Bingo, where students try to complete one row or column. One game board focuses on questions about themselves, one board game focuses on their likes/dislikes/favorites, and the third focuses on fun choices. These games can be played again and again! Can be played either online/virtual or in person.
BACK-to-SCHOOL/END-of-SUMMER Brainstorming Activity
In this no-prep, fully digital or in-person activity, students brainstorm things they did (or saw, felt, ate, etc) this past summer for each letter of the alphabet. They can reflect, brainstorm, practice past tense, and remember all the fun things they experienced. A great way to get even the quietest student participating!
