French Prepositions of Location Reading, Writing, Review Task Cards Activity
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
French Prepositions of Location- Reading and Writing Activity and Practice Cards
As your students learn French prepositions of location it is nice to have several exercises and activities planned to get in as much practice as possible. Read below to see everything that is included in this comprehensive lesson on prepositions of location for beginners. This resource is included in my French Prepositions of Location Bundle.
➯ This resource is also included in my Ça y est, je parle français! French 1 curriculum bundle!
This lesson includes 16 of the most essential prepositions students need when they want to say (or ask someone) where something is located.
Included:
➯ Lesson guide: All of the images on the lesson guide are also included in the Quizlet study set link that you will receive and on the practice cards.
➯ Translation exercise: This exercise looks like the lesson guide, but this time the French is missing! Students are asked to translate sentences from the lesson guide from English to French. Images are included.
➯ Reading and writing activity: This is a reading exercise about a tidy bedroom and a writing exercise about an untidy one. There is a paragraph to read about a tidy bedroom. The idea is to see if you can figure out what it means even if you don't know all of the vocabulary. The prepositions of location are used as context clues. The next part of this activity is to write ten sentences of your own about the image provided featuring an untidy bedroom. A list of useful vocabulary is provided and a quizlet study set as well. This list of vocabulary itemizes everything seen in the bedroom so that you can focus on the writing activity rather than looking up words in the dictionary. This is an excellent way to increase vocabulary.
➯ Practice cards: Use this set of 16 practice cards (French only) to form creative sentences about where things are located no matter where your students may be. I recommend printing the cards and cutting them out so that you can have them handy and ready to use when you feel like it. You can use them to talk about where things are located at home, in your car, in town, at work, at the bookstore... Anywhere!

French BAGS Position of Adjectives - Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
Do you find it nearly impossible to find French grammar based reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities? The focus on specific grammar themes seems to get pushed aside when you want to incorporate all of the other skills. This is a set of four booklets based on French BAGS position of adjectives.
When you’re teaching French BAGS adjectives, you may not want everything you do to be absolutely grammar based, because that can become boring.
This set of four one-page front and back, no-prep booklets includes reading comprehension with questions, a grammar quiz, a writing exercise with three activities, and a partnered writing and speaking activity.
These activities do not include rules. The activities in these booklets are not for absolute beginners. Check out my French BAGS Adjectives - Beauty, Age, Goodness, Size Ready to Use French Lesson.
These activities are meant to provide your students with an opportunity for a challenging review of this grammar topic.
All of the booklets are based on mastering French BAGS adjectives.
Once you’ve taught the rules, it’s time to have some fun with adjectives!
This resource includes the following:
⭐ Reading Comprehension Text
⭐ 10 Reading Comprehension Questions
⭐ Grammar Quiz - 15 Questions
⭐ Writing Work - 3 Exercises
⭐ Write and Ask Questions + Speak
⭐ Answer Keys Included
All you have to do is print the 4 half pages double-sided so that you have 4 half pages that fit on one page of paper. Once you’ve printed, just fold the paper in half, and you have a booklet!
You’ll notice that the different booklets reach into reading, writing, speaking, and listening, while still incorporating and focusing on French BAGS adjectives.
The reading comprehension booklet includes:
➤ Cover page
➤ Reading comprehension passage including the grammar theme many times
➤ Two pages with 10 multiple choice comprehension questions
➤ Answer key
The writing activities booklet includes:

The partnered writing / speaking booklet includes:
➤ Cover page
➤ 3 pages with space to write a question to ask someone including the grammar topic.
➤ There is space for: 6 original questions, the name of the person to whom they ask the question, and space to write the person’s answer to the question.
⭐ ALWAYS PREPARED…
These booklets are one of my favorite "go to" resources when I want to get my students reading, writing, listening, and speaking to each other while focusing on specific grammar themes that require a lot of practice. There's something about changing up the routine that is very motivating to students.
⭐ ALWAYS PREPARED…
You will be able to pull out this set of booklets again and again, year after year, as you teach and reteach French grammar topics. There are 100 sets of booklets in this series, and it's never a bad idea to pull out a random stack even with your more advanced students to give them a solid review of certain things they may have forgotten.
⭐ ALWAYS PREPARED…
These no-prep booklets can easily carry you through your whole career as a French teacher, and they'll save you so much time. I like to have baskets of these booklets ready to pull out and go at the drop of a hat. How about never needing to prepare for a sub on days when you can't be there?

French Verbs Être and Avoir Worksheet Exercise - Present Tense Activity or Quiz
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
I feel like I can never have too many ways to have my students practice the French verbs être and avoir. The present tense conjugations are tricky to master, and it's equally important to know when to use them because it's frequently different in English.
In this exercise, 25 sentences are written in the present tense offering multiple choice answers so that students can choose between être and avoir based on context.
Use this no prep printable French exercise to help students practice and master the essential French verbs être and avoir. An answer key is provided.

French Disjunctive - Stress Pronouns Lesson and Challenge Task Cards
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
French Stress Pronouns - Disjunctive Pronouns Comprehensive Lesson
This is a complete lesson on how to use French disjunctive pronouns: MOI - TOI - LUI - ELLE - NOUS - VOUS - EUX - ELLES.
The first step (if you wish) is to have your students watch my 13 minute video tutorial carefully and take notes. You may prefer to teach the lesson yourself. Either way, I've included a 7 page support guide so that you will have all of the examples used in the video written down for you. In the support guide document you will also find a link to a quizlet study set on French prepositions of location which are often used with disjunctive pronouns.
Next, you'll be able to download 50 cards to practice using French stress pronouns in three different ways. All of the cards have a question written on them. In the answer there are two blanks to fill in. One of the blanks requires a disjunctive pronoun, and the other requires students to change the verb conjugation to agree with the subject of the answer sentence. All of the cards are written in the present tense.
At last comes the real challenge and the true test to know when your students have finally mastered French disjunctive pronouns. Have them listen to an audio recording asking the same 50 questions that they will have first seen using the challenge cards with answer prompts. This time they'll write out their answers with no prompts at all on the student response sheet provided. Answer key is provided.
Verbs to be conjugated in present tense: être (10 cards), aller (14 cards), avoir (5 cards), faire (5 cards), regular -er verbs (12 cards), vouloir (1 card), partir (2 cards), prendre (1 card).
SAMPLE QUESTION:
Vous allez dîner chez nous demain?
RÉPONSE:
Oui, nous ___ dîner chez ___ demain.
Oui, nous allons dîner chez vous demain.
SAMPLE QUESTION:
C’est toi qui vas apporter le gâteau?
RÉPONSE:
Oui, c’est ___ qui ___ apporter le gâteau.
Oui, c'est moi qui vais apporter le gâteau.
SAMPLE QUESTION:
Tu ne vas pas à la piscine? Et Marc et Jules?
RÉPONSE:
___ non plus. Ils ne ___ pas à la piscine.
Eux non plus. Ils ne vont pas à la piscine.

French Possessive Adjectives Jeopardy - Adjectifs Possessifs
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
I call this game “Jeopardy”, but it’s my own version that I’ve worked out the kinks on for the last 15 years of playing it with my students. This is not a Powerpoint presentation. You have to write out the game on your whiteboard.
➯ This resource is included in my Ça y est, je parle français! French 1 curriculum bundle!
It’s not just like the game show on television, and the answers don’t have to be given in the form of a question, unless you want to. My students absolutely love this game, and so do I. They get very excited about it and look forward to Jeopardy day toward the end of every chapter.
This game would be wonderful after having spent time learning possessive adjectives in French. This version of the game focuses on using possessive adjectives with family members.
I've spent years working out the best way to play this game in a classroom setting, and it works so well that I went into a lot of detail in the instructions. The game includes 5 categories, daily doubles, and final jeopardy. If you have any questions at all about the game, please do feel free to ask.
