Building Bricks STEM Challenges BUNDLE
by Science and STEAM TeamChildren love building with bricks! The task cards correlate with the NGSS Engineering Standards. Students naturally think about the properties of materials (color, size, and shape) that will best complete the challenge. They also take apart and rebuild to make their creation even better! This the perfect time to talk about steps in the engineering and design process! The cards can be used whole group, with partners, or at centers. They will also keep your early finishers engaged in a thoughtful way.
There are worksheets at three different levels, so students can draw or photograph, write about, and/or measuring their creations. There is a cover page included in case you decide to make their pages into a book.
A tips and suggestions page is also included.

Getting to Know Students Through Building Bricks STEM Challenges

Do you need a fun activity to start off your school year?! Building bricks for kids are a great material to use! Get to know your students by having them build the following things with building bricks (task cards for each are included):
- themselves
- their house
- their mom
- their dad
- their pet, or one they would like to have
- their favorite sport
- their favorite food
- something in their favorite color
- favorite thing to do after school
- favorite thing to do in school
- the teacher
- the school
