Bundle of Adaptive Books Animals in wetlands, rainforest, ocean, polar & desert
by Until the Pieces FitThis set of 20 adapted books with a focus on animals in different habitats: Polar, Ocean, Rainforest, Desert and Wetlands. Each habitat has 4 books providing tiered support for your students. This is a total of 20 books, and the option to use with a variety of students. I have also included a Bonus print and go packet for follow up activities after you have read the books with your students.
Each habitat has 4 books (for a total of 20 books) representing different levels:
Level 1 - This book is not adaptive, it is a simple read aloud featuring details about the animals in each habitat.
Level 2 - This book contains 8 icons (ocean has 10) colorful pages (laminate and reuse again and again) & a visual prompting to support comprehension.
Level 3 - This book contains color icons, remainder of book is in black and white with visual supports for animal identification. Each page of the book has a sentence, and a place to put the icon after reading the sentence.
Level 4 - This book contains color icons, remainder of book is in black and white without visual supports. Each page of the book has a sentence, and a place to put the icon after reading the sentence.
What animals are included?
Ocean Habitat:
Animals - humpback whale, dolphin, clownfish, starfish, stingray, puffer fish, octopus, shark, turtle & jellyfish.
Desert Habitat:
Animals - coral snake, armadillo, Gila monster, tarantula, scorpion, coyote, kangaroo rat, jack-rabbit
Polar Habitat:
Animals - orca, arctic hare, seal, beluga whale, walrus, arctic fox, polar bear and narwhal
Rainforest Habitat:
Animals - sloth, butterfly, hummingbird, parrot, jaguar, tree frog, tapir, capybara
Wetland Animals:
Animals - alligator, duck, trout fish, muskrat, marsh fly, crayfish, snapping turtle, beaver

Book 2 - Interactive Comprehension: This book contains 8 icons, colorful pages with simple sentences including animals and their action. Example: I see a tapir rooting for food.
Book 3 - Visual Support & Statements: In this version, the focus is on visual learning and language development. The book contains a selection of 8 color icons representing the rainforest animals. The low-ink design ensures easy and economical printing. Every page features both a visually appealing icon and an "I see" statement, encouraging readers to connect the visuals with the corresponding animals. Book 4 - Developing Independence: This book contains 8 color icons which students will match to the "I see" statement on each page. No visual supports are provided for this book which is an excellent way to determine if students recognize the animals without extra support. I have used low ink for quick and easy printing.
