Boost literacy skills and develop phonemic awareness with these hands-on fun-filled activities to assist your students with rhyming words, short vowels, consonant blends, and consonant digraphs. Develop eye-hand coordination as students use clothespins to clip appropriate sounds they hear. Each of these fun hands-on literacy centers also has recording sheets to go along with each activity.
Simply pass out clothespins and have your students clip the appropriate rhymes, vowel sounds, or blends. You could also use these activities on pocket charts. Use the letter cards as headers and the picture cards for sorting. Follow up these activities with recording sheets.

This is a fun, motivating, hands on activity that will help students with consonant digraph sounds. Students can use clothespins to clip the consonant digraph sound they hear.You could also use this activity as a pocket chart literacy center. Recording sheets are included. Have fun teaching consonant digraph sounds to your students. Even if you have only taught a couple of consonant digraph sounds, you could still use this activity. Simply pass out the digraph letter strips to each student and say consonant digraph words using just the sounds you are working on or show students consonant digraph picture cards. Adapt this activity to meet your needs throughout the school year. This can be used in a whole group or smaller groups.
You will receive colorful consonant digraph letter strips. Just print as many as you like for your students to use.
You will also receive 27 sound cards with pictures that have consonant digraph sounds.
Consonant digraph letter headers are added for you to use in a pocket chart activity.

Students will have fun clipping words that rhyme. This is a hands-on on motivating lesson that will not only teach phonemic awareness skills but also work on fine motor skills. There are six recording sheets to go along with this activity. You can differentiate instruction with these worksheets. Some students may be drawing rhyming pictures while others may be writing sets of rhyming words.

Students will clip the consonant blends sounds they hear. Simply pass out the consonant blend strips to each student and a clothespin. Dictate or show picture cards with consonant blends. Students will clip the correct blend. You can do this as a whole group lesson or work in smaller groups during RTI or literacy centers. You could also use this activity in a pocket chart. There are headers for each consonant blend. Students can place the picture cards underneath the correct consonant blend. A couple of recording sheets are available to go along with this fun hands on activity. This packet also includes an answer key.
