Polygons on the Coordinate Plane--Google Slides
By Colleen Burdette
Engaging practice:
Students practice using a coordinate plane to complete polygons. Students move points on the slide to plot the completion of the polygon.
Students will write various ordered pairs based on points plotted.
They will practice with Google Slide skills as well as entering information on a Google Slide while answering mathematical questions.

One Quadrant Coordinate Plane Game
By Colleen Burdette
Engaging Competition:
Students will engage in friendly competition as they practice placing coordinates on a coordinate plane. Based on the connect the dots to form a square game, students roll dice to establish coordinates to plot to make their square.
Students are engaged in creating squares to claim as their own to win the competition while practicing their coordinate plane skills.
My students enjoyed the competition of completing a square while trying to block their opponent.
Provided are two versions of the game, one with directions for regular dice and one for die-in-die. If you haven't used a die-in-die you should check them out, a fun tool to have in the classroom.

Ratio, Rate, Unit Rate, and the Coordinate Plane Worksheet
By Colleen Burdette
Good practice:
This product allows for remediation, review, practice, or introduction of this skill. Students work with ratios, find the rate and unit rate, read a coordinate plane, and plot unit rates on the coordinate plane. This assignment involves real life situations from which students gather data.
Great as a bell ringer, introductory activity, homework, or even remediation.

Measuring Polygons on the Coordinate Plane: Meme Reveal
By Colleen Burdette
Fun, engaging practice:
Students enjoy this engaging activity using the coordinate plane. Students respond to questions concerning polygons on the coordinate plane. They will name the polygons, give the base and height measurements, and find the area of the polygon.
Students have fun revealing a meme by entering correct answers. Students will troubleshoot incorrect answers and persevere in solving the problem correctly.
Self-checking as image is revealed by correct answers.

4 Quadrant Coordinate Plane Game
By Colleen Burdette
Engaging Competition:
Students will engage in friendly competition as they practice placing coordinates on a four quadrant coordinate plane. Based on the connect the dots to form a square game, students roll dice to establish coordinates to plot to make their square. Students make a spinner with a paper clip to assign positive or negative to each coordinate.
Students are engaged in creating squares to claim as their own to win the competition while practicing their coordinate plane skills.
My students enjoyed the competition of completing a square while trying to block their opponent.

Reflecting on the Coordinate Plane--Google Slides
By Colleen Burdette
Engaging practice:
Students practice using a coordinate plane to find reflecting points. Students find the movement of points over both the x-axis and y-axis.
Students will write various ordered pairs based on points plotted. Students also practice completing quadrilaterals with a missing point and then track the movement of those points over the x-axis and y-axis by writing order pairs.
They will practice with Google Slide skills as well as entering information on a Google Slide while answering mathematical questions.

Reflections on the Coordinate Plane Worksheet
By Colleen Burdette
Strong practice:
Students practice using a coordinate plane to find reflecting points. Using the practical coordinate planes students can sketch out the movement of points over both the x-axis and y-axis.
Practical pencil and paper practice for students. Students will write various ordered pairs based on points plotted. Students also practice completing quadrilaterals with a missing point and then track the movement of those points over the x-axis and y-axis by writing order pairs.
