Adding Interrogative Words to French Questions - Google Forms Quiz
This is a multiple choice French quiz on forming questions using interrogative words in the present, passé composé, and futur proche. 15 questions are included. Students read a question in English and choose the correct French translation. This quiz is printable if you prefer.
The type of question to be used is indicated: est-ce que, intonation, inversion. Students have to be attentive in order to choose the answer that uses the right kind of question, and placement of interrogative words is important.

Instructions: Choose the correct French translation of the following questions. Options are given for intonation, est-ce que, and inversion along with interrogative words. Observe each option carefully to make the right choice. Placing the interrogative words in the right spot is important!
Questions may be in the present tense, passé composé, or futur proche.

This is a short answer French quiz on forming questions in the present, past, and future. 15 questions are included. Students read a question in French and rewrite it in the indicated form (est-ce que ou inversion). This Google Forms quiz is printable if you prefer.

French Questions Interrogative Words Lesson - Exercises - French Question Words

When teaching how to form French questions with interrogative words, this lesson has it all! Video, lesson guide with examples, exercises, and a really fun activity to try out with your students.
This lesson is all about how to add meaningful question words to simple questions in French so that you will get more than a "yes" or "no" answer. Your students will learn how to use the question words: qui, quoi, que, quel, quand, où, pourquoi, comment, and combien (de). This lesson includes a video, so it can easily be assigned as homework, and you can save precious class time for the fun stuff!
Students will learn the rules for knowing where to place the question word in the sentence depending on the type of question they've decided to ask. This lesson is to be used along with my video lesson (external link provided).
Here you will find the basic rules needed for forming questions using intonation, est-ce que, and inversion. There are many useful examples to help understand the rules, and there's even an exercise (with answers included) to test knowledge. Don't forget to try out the activity at the bottom of the document, my students think it's so much fun, and it's a QUIET activity, even better!

Forming French questions with interrogative words - 100 Practice Cards
This is a set of 100 review cards to practice forming French questions using est-ce que and inversion. All of the cards prompt students to transform a sentence into a question using an interrogative word. The following French question words are used in this set of cards:

Forming French Questions - Interrogative Words - 9 Dice Games - Jeux de Dés

Finding fun and engaging activities for forming French questions can be a challenge. This is the easiest, most engaging, no prep 30 minute dice game you'll find that your students will LOVE! Nine versions are included. All you have to do is print and go!
Students practice forming French questions using interrogative words and 3 types of questions:
Use these games to practice forming questions in any tense, and 4 game boards do not have verbs written in so that you can choose target verbs if you like. Some of the games include noun subjects.
Students divide into teams and play a dice game, the dice determining how to form questions. They roll the dice 4 times to determine the following: type of question, question word, subject or subject pronoun, and an infinitive.
Students write their words and questions on the response sheet. Check out the preview to see exactly how you can use this activity in your French classroom to practice forming French questions with interrogative words.

French Questions - Est-ce que, Inversion, Intonation - Challenge Task Cards

80 cards to practice forming French questions using intonation, est-ce que and inversion. The card shows a common question in English, and students have to translate it in French using the three types of questions, if possible.
All of the cards are written mainly in the present tense and passé composé, with some cards using être à l'imparfait, le futur proche, le futur simple.
Most of the time I like to have my students work in pairs or small groups when using these cards, but they are also effective as individual practice. I also like to project these cards and use them as a whole class activity. An answer key is provided.
