This ten-week French reading comprehension program will have your students reading in French every day of the week. These week-long reading programs are suitable for upper-beginner to intermediate levels, and they will have your students reading tous les jours de la semaine du lundi au vendredi en français.
Each of the week-long reading themes in this program includes five French readings with comprehension questions for Monday through Friday. You get a total of 50 no-prep, black and white, one page readings and questions. Check out the video preview to see exactly how this French reading program works.
These readings are a great way to reinforce vocabulary and grammatical structures, and they are meant to accompany my whole year French writing program which follows the same themes.

Provide each student with a lectures de la semaine folder and have them add to it every day as you provide daily assignments. You can easily combine themed reading and writing activities in the same weekly folder if you choose to implement my complete French reading and writing programs. At the end of the week have students turn in their folders. On Monday, you can start over again with a new theme.
Use these weekly no-prep French reading activities with many different levels whether you teach in immersion, core, or traditional settings.

Here’s how to use this reading program + writing program + vocabulary program which are sold separately:
✍Lundi: VOCABULAIRE - List of 12 words and expressions; J'écris mes douze mots de la semaine
✍Lundi: LIRE - Read paragraph #1 and answer three comprehension questions
✍Lundi: ÉCRIRE - Je dessine - Give students a drawing page with a writing prompt at the top. This will have them beginning to think about the writing theme for the week and is their first pre-writing assignment. Kids love drawing, and the pictures they draw will later serve as inspiration!
✍Mardi: VOCABULAIRE - Je recopie mes douze mots de la semaine 3 fois; Je mets mes douze mots de la semaine dans l'ordre alphabétique
✍Mardi: LIRE - Read paragraph #2 and answer three comprehension questions
✍Mardi: ÉCRIRE - Mon livret de vocabulaire - Each student receives a French booklet to help them explore the vocabulary related to the week’s writing theme. The front page includes the writing prompt of the week and an image. The second page includes over 80 frequently used French words. Page three lists 12 words that go along with the theme of the week, and the back page has space for ten words that students have either thought of on their own or looked up in the dictionary. The booklet is a simple one page printable that you can either fold in advance or have students do it on their own. Kids write their name on the front cover and you could have them colour it.
✍Mercredi: VOCABULAIRE - Je découpe et je colle mes douze mots de la semaine
✍Mercredi: LIRE - Read paragraph #3 and answer three comprehension questions
✍Mercredi: ÉCRIRE - Vocabulaire - Students go back to their French vocabulary booklets from Tuesday and choose ten words that they will include in their rough draft. The words they choose can be a combination of words they have chosen and themed vocabulary that was already written in the booklet. They then write down the chosen words on their vocabulary page that says “ Mots de vocabulaire utiles: J’utiliserai ces mots dans mon paragraphe.”
✍Jeudi: VOCABULAIRE - Dots & Boxes: Je joue avec un ami; Je cherche mes douze mots cachés de la semaine
✍Jeudi: LIRE - Read paragraph #4 and answer three comprehension questions
✍Jeudi: ÉCRIRE - Mon brouillon - Students write a rough draft of their paragraph using the French vocabulary words selected on Wednesday. The brouillon page includes a 5 point checklist at the top for students to evaluate their work for themselves before writing the final copy on Friday. This will motivate students to look over their work and make corrections.
✍Vendredi: VOCABULAIRE - J'écris des phrases avec mes douze mots de la semaine
✍Vendredi: LIRE - Read paragraph #5 and answer three comprehension questions
✍Vendredi: ÉCRIRE - Ma copie propre - The fifth and final step in this French writing program is to write the final copy. Students should feel very confident in writing about this week’s theme by now. At the top of the final copy page they’ll see the writing prompt and French question words that they can ask themselves while writing: qui - quoi - quand - où - pourquoi - comment

This one-week French reading passage comprehension program will have your students reading in French every day of the week. These reading passages following the theme "Pendant les grandes vacances d'été, j'aime bien..." include five separate reading activities for Monday through Friday with three comprehension questions each. These activities are perfect for core French or immersion programs.
These reading worksheets are a great way to practice themed vocabulary, see sight words in action, and to improve overall comprehension.
Each activity includes a paragraph to be read three times, once for each of the three questions that follow. Students check off the circled numbers each time they read the text and then they answer the corresponding questions.

It worked well cause they had many attempts to practice and knew what was expected before the assessment piece came."

This one-week French reading passage comprehension program will have your students reading in French every day of the week. These reading passages following the theme "Dans ma chambre il y a..." include five separate reading activities for Monday through Friday with three comprehension questions each. These activities are perfect for core French or immersion programs.
These reading worksheets are a great way to practice themed vocabulary, see sight words in action, and to improve overall comprehension.
Each activity includes a paragraph to be read three times, once for each of the three questions that follow. Students check off the circled numbers each time they read the text and then they answer the corresponding questions.
