Pet Death Grief and Loss Memory Book for help Coping with Death or Pet Loss

Discussing Emotions (Session #2)

The Discussion Game! Students remember and discuss how they have handled emotional situations in the past. Game Rules: One at a time, students pick a card. They tell a story based on what color card they choose. If they chose: Yellow chameleon, they tell a story about a time they had joy, when they were happy. Blue chameleon, tell a story about a time they felt sad. Red chameleon, a time they were angry. Green chameleon, when they were disgusted. Orange chameleon, a time they were surprised. Purple, a time they were fearful. If they pick a chameleon with no color, they can tell a story about any emotion they desire. I hope your students love this! This is now part of a bundle! Recognizing Other People's Emotions (Session #5)

The Empathy Building Game Help students recognize and understand how other people would feel in a given situation. Have students “walk a mile” in other people’s shoes while answering one important question; How do you think they would feel? Two sets of 52 game cards are included. Black and white cards should be used with advanced groups who have a solid grasp on understanding emotions. Students pick a card, read the situation, and describe the emotions the person would feel. The colored cards can be used as a guide for students who still need help understanding the basic concepts. The colors on the chameleons (on the cards) match the emotions the situations would evoke. This social emotional learning game will help your students “slide” their way to different calming strategies and self-regulation techniques. Students will love learning social skills and anger management strategies while using the volcano sliders to describe how they would de-escalate each situation.
Empower students to keep each volcano from erupting by describing how to respond in a way that diffuses each situation.
Students will learn calming strategies, coping skills, and self-regulation tools with this highly engaging, interactive, and effective social-emotional learning game.

Students are challenged to look at potentially upsetting situations and decide on an emotional regulation strategy they could use in that situation. They are challenged to think of ways to diffuse the situation and to think of actions that could help make the situation better.
