This learning resource is designed to help students engage deeply with mystery stories by analyzing characters, understanding text structure, and connecting narrative conflicts with real-world problem-solving skills. The resource introduces essential vocabulary related to detective work, such as 'clues,' 'suspects,' and 'evidence,' fostering a foundational understanding of the genre. Activities guide students through predicting the plot based on vocabulary, tracking characters and their motivations, mapping the story's structure from beginning to end, and identifying significant events in the narrative. Additionally, students are encouraged to reflect on how the problems faced by characters in stories can mirror real-life situations they encounter, enhancing their empathy and understanding. They will connect these story problems to personal experiences, thus learning valuable problem-solving strategies through both fictional and real contexts.
