Compare whole numbers up to 10,000 using < / > / =

This resource covers the fundamental concepts of comparing whole numbers using comparison symbols: Less Than (<), Greater Than (>), and Equal To (=). It outlines a step-by-step approach for comparing numbers, emphasizing the importance of starting from the largest place value. The document presents several examples to illustrate how to determine which number is bigger or if they are equal, including both small and large numbers. Additional practice exercises are provided for learners to apply their understanding, with guided practice and independent tasks that ask them to compare pairs of numbers. It concludes with a challenge section that encourages critical thinking by requiring students to explain their reasoning for the chosen comparison symbol.
