This learning resource focuses on the concept of archetypal characters in storytelling. Students will explore essential archetypes, such as The Hero, The Mentor, and The Villain, among others, by engaging with both classic and contemporary examples from pop culture as well as the text 'Haroun and the Sea of Stories.' The objective is for students to identify these archetypes, define their key traits, and connect them to textual evidence that supports the identification of characters within the story. Furthermore, a wildcard challenge allows students to creatively select and analyze an archetype not previously discussed, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills through various forms of justification and textual support.
