The Rural Community Design Challenge encourages students to engage creatively with their local environment by identifying specific problems and designing solutions that enhance community life. They will utilize the design thinking process, conducting research on stakeholders and exploring various categories such as community spaces, safety, environment, tourism, and connection among residents. The challenge fosters skills in empathy mapping, user research, and idea generation, culminating in the development of a functional prototype tailored to real-world needs. Additionally, students reflect on their design process, emphasizing the importance of feedback, sustainability, and practical constraints.
