Week 4 States of Matter & Density (Dancing Liquid Investigation) Outcomes and Content points
Learning Intention:
We are learning that different liquids behave in different ways and can move up and down.
Success Criteria:
• I can describe what happens when liquids are mixed
• I can explain why some liquids sink or float
• I can use words like mix, sink, float, bubbles, gas
• I can draw and write about what I observed 📘 Science
ST1-4...
The 'Dancing Liquid' Investigation explores the different behaviors of liquids through a hands-on experiment. Students learn about concepts such as mixing, sinking, floating, and the formation of bubbles. The activity involves observing the interaction between vinegar and oil, predicting outcomes, and analyzing the effects of density and gas reactions. Key vocabulary, observation tasks, and opportunities for discussion enhance understanding of buoyancy and liquid behavior, while drawing and writing tasks reinforce learning. The investigation culminates in a reflection on the experiments and sharing observations with peers, providing a comprehensive engagement with scientific principles.
