This learning resource focuses on developing active listening skills in a social context. The objective is to define active listening and identify personal barriers to effective communication. It includes a structured 3-minute warm-up with three parts: a 'See-Think-Wonder' routine that encourages students to observe and reflect on the dynamics of a conversation, an activity to articulate a personal definition of active listening, and a section for identifying specific obstacles that hinder effective listening. Additionally, students will set a personal goal for improving their listening skills throughout the academic year.
