This resource focuses on guiding students in mastering the use of a dictionary. It begins with clear learning objectives that equip students to locate words, understand their parts of speech, pronounce them accurately, and grasp their meanings. The anatomy of a dictionary entry is illustrated in detail, explaining key components such as the entry word, pronunciation, part of speech, and definition. It includes a practice section where students can analyze a sample dictionary entry for the word 'explore', requiring them to identify its entries and definitions. Additionally, there is an interactive game designed to pair vocabulary words from one column with their corresponding dictionary definitions in another, reinforcing their understanding and application of dictionary skills. The document concludes with a self-check section that encourages students to assess their learning and put new vocabulary into practical use.
