Original Promptcell structure and functions
This resource focuses on exploring and comparing the organelles found in plant and animal cells. Students will learn to identify ten major cell organelles, describe their primary functions, and distinguish between the structures of plant and animal cells. Activities include labeling diagrams, matching organelles to their functions, and answering comparative questions about the differences between cell types. Furthermore, students will use the Claim, Evidence, Reasoning (CER) framework to articulate why plant cells require both a cell wall and a cell membrane, while animal cells only have a cell membrane. The resource encourages metacognitive calibration, allowing students to assess their own understanding of cell structures.
