This lesson focuses on understanding bias in artificial intelligence (AI) through engaging activities. Students will explore the concept of bias by reading a short story about a robot named 'Smarty' that learns from pictures but has a skewed dataset, leading to unfair conclusions. The lesson includes various activities where students will answer questions about the story, match words to their meanings, evaluate fairness in AI training scenarios, and suggest ways to fix bias in AI systems. The goal is to help students recognize the importance of balanced data in AI learning and the implications of bias in technology.
