This learning resource focuses on analyzing the American Revolution through both chronological and spatial perspectives. Students will engage in a two-part activity, first by sequencing major conflicts in chronological order, specifically the Siege of Boston, Philadelphia Campaign, and the Battle of Yorktown. Secondly, they will conduct a spatial analysis of the war by identifying key geographical regions, turning points, and noting control of territories throughout different stages of the conflict. Additionally, students will explore how geography played a crucial role in determining the outcomes of battles, choosing one major battle for detailed examination. They will create artistic representations of the battle terrain and reflect on the strategic importance of the geographical features that influenced military decisions. Overall, this resource aims to enhance students' understanding of the relationship between geography and historical events during the American Revolution.
