This resource is a Teacher Preparation Guide for an engaging classroom activity aimed at promoting kindness among students. The lesson revolves around the concept of making a ‘Kindness Promise’ and includes a variety of interactive elements such as discussions about the special people in their lives, the groups they belong to, and role-playing activities that demonstrate kind behaviors. The guide outlines materials needed, classroom setup, and provides a clear learning target for students: to learn how to be kind in different social groups. Activities include sharing, helping, and using nice words, culminating in students making a collective kindness promise and adding their handprints to a poster as a commitment to kindness. This resource encourages a positive classroom community where students feel supported and valued.
