This learning resource guides students through a reflective synthesis after participating in a Holocaust gallery walk exhibit. It aims to deepen their understanding of the human experience during this historical event by analyzing personal reactions and articulating these thoughts in writing. The resource is structured in phases: starting with a 'See-Think-Wonder' routine where students observe, speculate, and question the exhibits; followed by structured note-taking to capture emotional reactions and initial connections to specific exhibits, such as the Hall of Names at Yad Vashem. In the next phase, students develop a first draft using the Claim, Evidence, Reasoning (CER) framework to express their main reactions and support them with evidence from the exhibit. The resource also includes peer dialogue phases that encourage discussion and reflection, along with a self-edit segment where students refine their drafts to clarify their insights. Additionally, a challenge task prompts them to connect historical reflections on human rights to modern contexts.
