This resource serves as an introductory guide to Pre-Calculus, outlining key learning objectives that students should achieve by the end of the unit. It emphasizes the importance of analyzing functions, solving equations through various methods, and applying mathematical concepts to real-world scenarios. The document begins with a review of Algebra 2 concepts and includes a concept map that illustrates the connections among functions, trigonometry, analytical geometry, and limits. Key features of polynomial and exponential functions are examined, along with a worked example that demonstrates how to find critical points of polynomial functions. Additionally, basic trigonometric concepts are explored from both unit circle and right triangle perspectives, showcasing their applications in physics and engineering. The document also introduces conic sections and provides practice problems related to circles, ellipses, and hyperbolas, alongside activities for students to assess their understanding and reflection on the learning process.
