I am an elementary teacher looking for an extension for 3rd through 5th grade. This will be an extension that they can complete as their own pace. I want it to include research on the Titanic, specific people that were aboard the Titanic, possible artifacts and take students through a class system with boarding passes. This should have research questions, PBL and engaging activities. Create this in google slides for me to easily share with students and include a lesson plan skeleton.
This teacher guide outlines a Titanic research project aimed at helping students develop their research skills while exploring the historical significance of the RMS Titanic and its passengers. Students will create a passenger profile based on a real Titanic passenger, comparing and contrasting the experiences of different social classes aboard the ship. The project encourages students to gather and cite evidence from multiple sources, make personal connections to the events, and engage in thoughtful discussions about class differences and survival rates. The project includes a variety of materials for independent research, including a boarding pass template, guidance on investigating artifacts, and options for presenting their findings.
