7 Continents & Oceans Activities | Hands on Learning | Animals Around the World

Our continents and oceans resource teaches the 7 continents and 5 oceans with everything you'll need for your students to be successful. Students will learn about the continents and oceans in a fun and engaging way with many hands-on activities that can be used for station work. Many of these activities have low prep work involved. With over 130 pages, you will have plenty to keep your students engaged and learning.

What's Included:

  • Engage students with individual passports, flight tickets, and stamps when they reach each continent destination.
  • 19 printable activities available in full-page activity worksheets/ can be used to make student work booklets. Includes: Continents and oceans coloring map, continent & ocean labeling map, continents & oceans writing page (description, facts, location), smallest to largest labeling pages for continents and oceans.
  • Multiple opportunities for student writing including two fact-finder worksheets and an opinion writing about which continent they would like to travel to.
  • Peer to Peer collaborative learning activities include roll-out playdoh continent cards, continent fact puzzles, matching words with continents, matching animals with continents, I have, who has activity, and QR code scanning to learn about biomes on the different continents.
  • 7 hanging continent group signs to display all year.
  • Paper plate globe creation craft
  • I have, who has landmarks activity.
  • QR codes that link to videos to teach the 8 different biomes. Students will study and link the biomes to the different continents.
  • Easily connect the social studies standards with science standards to teach habitats/biomes with continents and oceans in an engaging way that makes sense.
  • End of unit assessment: Making a group brochure about a continent.
  • Use worksheets for informal assessments. It also includes multiple interactive exit ticket assessments for continents and oceans, as well as a summative assessment.
