SUMMARY:
Hemingway sits us in a café that is about to close up for the evening; however, there is an old man who sits in the corner wanting more brandy. Two waiters discuss this patron and delves the night into deep thought. The older waiter begins to face an existential crisis of his own. Making his way through the long, dark hours of the night, he eventually discovers a sense of meaning and purpose to his life amidst a world that is seemingly 'full of nothing'. Will students make the same journey?
This 11th - 12th grade canonized work allows students to look at themselves, their world, and their life's journey.
