Need some ready-to-use writing prompts for your AP Spanish® students?  In this bundle, find 5 prompts related to family roles and values in the Spanish-speaking world!  

The first 4 prompts are “diary” style questions.  Students are asked open-ended questions that require them to synthesize information and think deeply.  These prompts can be free writing or can be assigned for a grade.  The 5th prompt included in this bundle is a written cultural comparison.  It is designed for assessment with a rubric included. 

These prompts are Google Docs can be printed or assigned digitally.  They can also be edited to suit your students’ needs!

How can I use this product?

• Assign these writing prompts throughout Unit 1: Familias en diferentes sociedades
• Students can answer questions independently in class or for homework
• Students can also work in small groups to discuss first and then write individual answers
• Consider using the diary-style questions as time for students to practice writing without the fear of grading penalties
• Ask students to try to work in examples of the grammar that you’re practicing in class in these writing prompts
• Perhaps use the last diary as an interim assessment
• Use the cultural comparison as a graded summative assessment
• *Allow AP Spanish students to write their first cultural comparison as they get the feel for the rules and requirements of what should be included
