AP Spanish Language and Culture® Unit 5 explores the factors that influence quality of life. Making reading comprehension for fun and interesting! Explore a trending vacation method by reading about Ecotourism! The article and follow up activities are provided and can be assigned digitally or in print form.

First, students will read a blog post about ecotourism in Panama. While they read, students will take notes on the important bullet points they read about. Next, students will write 6 comprehension questions on a separate page. Finally, they will write the answers to their questions on the same page where they took their notes. Either later in class or the next day, students will exchange their questions. Each student will answer the comprehension questions that another student wrote. This kind of activity leads to students paying more attention to detail in their reading and also in their question writing!

How can I use this product?

• One reading; 2 activities! I love when I can take one source and use it in more than one way!
• Students read and take their own notes about what's important in the article
• They can demonstrate their own comprehension by creating good comprehension questions for a classmate
• The second activity is answering another student's comprehension questions
• Take it one step further: have students correct their classmates answers with their pre-made answer key! Have them work in pairs or small groups to clear up any confusions and ensure good comprehension.
• Ask students to add new information to their "sources chart" for this unit so they may refer to it for an upcoming assessment
