Art Sub Plans | Color by Number

This resource is great for multi-tasking art teachers. It is a perfect sub plan for elementary with no setup and few materials required, can also be used as a cross-curricular one-day lesson with differentiation built right in, and it addresses students’ skill deficits that many schools currently see.

With all of the screen time and technology, students do not have the same fine motor skills as in previous years.   This lesson builds students' fine motor and problem-solving skills with a highly engaging lesson. So much is included!

This resource is in a PDF file and contains 34 pages. It includes:

  • 2 sub activities differentiated for younger & older students
  • Step-by-step instructions including photos
  • Extension activities and project idea suggestions
  • Color by number examples (12) which can also be used for early finishers
  • Templates and project examples
  • Multiple variations of notes to teacher for sub use
  • Behavior reflection form for off-task students
  • Cross-curricular connections for one-day lesson use

Lesson can be used with or without templates. Print out the instruction page and early finisher activities and add specific details.  Print out the color by number samples and behavior reflection form for the sub to use for off-task students.  This resource contains everything you need to leave for your substitute - just add your daily schedule.
