This resource contains a total of 4 cross-curricular art projects inspired by the artwork of contemporary African American artist Howardena Pindell. Designed for Kindergarten - 5th grade students, it may be used for Black History Month (February), Women’s History Month (March), a unit on shapes, or anytime of year. 

These engaging projects can also repurpose students’ unfinished artwork of recycled materials making it perfect for a recycling or Earth Day project.

This is a great project for Black History Month & Women’s History Month. Simply start the project in February and continue it into March without having to worry about schedule changes & testing.  The vibrant artwork produced can be displayed for either month.
