Getting your Core kids to write something authentic and meaningful can be one of the toughest parts of teaching Core... At least it was for ME!

This themed unit will give the students transferrable knowledge for their LA classes and will guide them to creating their very own "bande dessinée" with a spooky twist.

In this 14-pg. unit, you'll find:

• A mini dictionary of 30 common words, expressions and dialogue they can use related to Halloween/scary stories;

• An activity on developing personality traits & mood;

• Students will become familiar with vocabulary for different moods and feelings en Français (nerveux, triste, drôle, déterminé etc.)

• A visual dictionary of common Halloween costumes to inspire their stories;

• 8 examples of possible scene/setting choices to inspire their stories;

• A guide to developing scene and setting with our 5 senses;

• Students will become familiar with vocabulary for our 5 senses en Français (l'ouïe, le toucher, le goûter, l'odorat, le goûter, la vue).

• A personal dictionary;

• Plot design;

• A collection of speech bubbles, thought bubbles, starburst, call-outs to cut and paste into their bandes-dessinées;

• Two templates of "strips" for their comics.
