Kirigami is a highly engaging, hands-on Day of the Dead project for upper elementary students and is perfect for dual language classes. This cross-curricular project can be used for Hispanic Heritage Month, Day of the Dead, or anytime and works well for Art on a cart. It includes tips for all learners to be successful and includes a 1 page student instruction sheet in English and Spanish to help your dual language students stay on track.
This is a project I do in October leading up to Halloween and Day of the Dead because this artwork produces a fantastic seasonal multicultural display that is tied to Día de los Muertos. This project is a great way to integrate Hispanic Heritage Month and Day of the Dead!
