The categories are Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, Compost, Save Earth and Scrap with each having a stanza of the song and flannel board pieces. After each of the 6 categories are shown and a little singing, the student will have the opportunity to fill in a writing prompt Excellent for group-participation and teaches social, cognitive, literary and motor skills.

Directions:

Cut out, laminate and attach Velcro or craft flannel on the back of the piece for the flannel board as you sing the Earth Day song: a stanza for each category. After they learn more about: “Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, Compost, Save Earth and Scrap,” they can write about it using the matching writing prompts.
