EMERGENT Handwriting - 3 Name Writing Crafts is the second step for emergent writers (see details below). Step One is teaching the uppercase letters in alphabetical order by sight and rote, such as with the alphabet song, crafts, and simple worksheets. Children are connected to their names, and this product gives them many fun opportunities to practice writing them. This makes an amazing, “Back to School” or “First Day” activity!

The Emergent Handwriting Method:

Stage One - Prewriting – Visual and Rote Learning

  • teach the alphabet in order refer to (uppercase)
  • use songs and “Art Work” letter worksheets

Stage Two – Celebrate Name Writing

Stage Three – Introduce UPPERCASE Writing
