French Conditional and Imperfect Tenses - COULD and WOULD

This resource includes the following:

➯ A translation exercise with 30 sentences in which students must choose whether to use the imperfect or conditional tense to express could and would. Answer key is included. Note that some translations may vary and that the focus is on could and would in French.

Example

Sentence in English - We could go to the movies this evening if you like.

Underline the correct tense*- l’imparfait ⟺ le conditionnel*
Translate the underlined verb(s) - verbes soulignés en français ➪    pourrions aller

Translate:  Nous pourrions aller au cinéma ce soir si tu veux / si vous voulez.
