This advanced French exercise includes ten sentences to translate from English to French using the following tenses or verbal constructions with the indirect object pronoun LUI. An answer key is included. There are lots of twists and turns in the grammar that will really have your students thinking. This exercise is perfect for AP French.
Exercise #3 focuses on the use of the French indirect object pronoun LUI with various tenses. This resource is included in a bundled set of six exercises using different types of French pronouns.
If you're looking for something a little less advanced, I also have an intermediate level translation exercise similar to this one.
The ten sentences included in this exercise follow chronological order, encouraging the use of pronouns to avoid repetition. Students must pay attention to the sequence in order to make sense of the changes in verb tenses and the consistent use of pronouns to replace words that have already been stated in the beginning of the exercise.
This sentences in this exercise tell a story. The first sentence of the exercise includes some underlined words. Translate it and the following sentences replacing the underlined words with a pronoun. The tenses change in each sentence.
This exercise (#3) uses only the pronoun LUI. I have 5 similar exercises available in my store which use other French pronouns:
