This French reading comprehension activity will teach your students about the life and impact of Joan of Arc. Joan of Arc was a humble peasant who ended up leading the French forces to victory over the English. She helped to put a king on the throne and to unite a country that was divided - all before she reached the age of 17! Learn about her beginnings in a small village and her path to becoming one of the most important people in French history.

 It is suitable for novice-high/intermediate-low students with teacher guidance and higher-level students to work independently.  If you teach AP French, this reading can be useful in giving your students practice reading nonfiction articles for the interpretive section of the test.  The reading can lead to discussion or writing activities to include the other two modes of communication.
