This French reading comprehension activity will teach your students about the history and architecture of a hotel in Québec made entirely of ice. It is suitable for novice-high/intermediate-low students with teacher guidance and higher level students to work independently. If you teach AP French, this reading can be useful in giving your students practice reading non-fiction articles for the interpretive section of the test. The reading can lead to discussion or writing activities to include the other two modes of communication.
Each winter a special hotel is built in Quebec, made entirely out of ice. You can stay there, but you have to be willing to follow the rules and wake up early! Learn about the construction of the hotel, what it's like to stay there and what makes it special in this reading for French learners.
