Preschoolers and Kindergartners can get practice with beginning sounds with these Halloween beginning sounds phonics matching mats. These will make a great hands on literacy center. There are two types of mats for students to practice beginning sounds.

What is Included:

• 2 Beginning Sound Haunted House Mats with ghost picture cards
• 2 Beginning Sound Picture Mats with letter cards

The haunted house mats contain letters, in either capital or lowercase forms, for students to place ghost picture cards on top of to match the beginning sounds. The sound picture mats contain 10 Halloween themed pictures. Students will place the correct letter (both capital and lowercase letters are available) on top of the picture that begins with that letter.

When to Use:

• Literacy Centers
• Morning Tubs or Baskets
• Small Group Activities

Students will have fun and stay engaged with learning beginning sounds. All of the images coordinate with a Halloween theme.

This literacy center is low prep. The letter cards and ghost cards need to be cut apart to create a hands-on center for students to practice identifying beginning sounds.
