Word problems and fractions! Your students are just learning to identify what a fraction is through various models. Now is the time to apply those models to word problems! The Fraction Files now include using word problems to identify fractional parts of a whole or a set! This set of 72 task cards include cards for students to read the problem, draw a model, and name the fraction given or fraction left over. A few cards towards the end of each set (36 MC cards, 36 short answer cards) are a bit more involved, with critical thinking skills needed to find the answer. Works well with any fractions unit, but also works with Grade 3, Module 5, Eureka Math / Engage NY Math. Several versions of an answer sheet are included - ones with shapes drawn on the answer sheets and blank grids to let students draw their own models. Thank you for your interest in my activities.
