A Google Slides opinion writing unit, or discussion writing unit, discussing who was the most influential scientist: Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton or Marie Curie. The NO PREP unit has been split into four separate lessons and is perfect for students in third grade or fourth grade. Students will learn about the famous figures whilst working on their comprehension skills and developing their creative writing.

The first lesson involves students retrieving facts from informational texts about the famous figures, and typing these on to an included fact sheet. In the second lesson students need to use these facts to write three to four paragraphs about the individual figures. In the third lesson students need to use prompt sheets to write up an introduction and a conclusion. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before typing up their work using the template provided.

This activity is an online resource, that uses Google Slides, and is linked to your Google Drive. It can be completed by students online using tablets or computers.
