This product is a new way for students to analyze the Mood of Chapter 2 of Lord of The Flies and make predictions about the plot and characters! Here's how ithis station rotation works:

First, students will be given one of 7 quotes from chapter 2 on a handout. They'll write a gist statement for their quote. They'll leave their handout at their seat and rotate within their group to further analyze the quote by identifying the mood, circling words that create the mood, and making a prediction based on their analysis. They'll write this information on their classmates' handouts as they rotate through their group.

Next, the whole group will move to the next group's quote. They will read the quote and the responses their classmates wrote to the questions. They'll annotate their classmates' responses to further their understanding of the quote.

Then they'll go to a third group's quote. They'll read the responses and discuss their classmates' responses. They'll reflect with their group on which responses were surprising, thought-provoking, etc.

Finally, they'll return to their original station and will read their classmates' responses on their paper. They'll again discuss their findings with their group members.

This was a success with my 10th graders! They especially liked returning to their paper and reading everything their classmates had written. You have everything you need to run this activity, including all 7 handouts and directions to project on your board. Thank you!
