The math problems range from 2 lines to 4 lines. This prepares students to work through longer questions for algebra and other math that is more complex.

This activity can be used without the abacus. If students are following the abacus method, this is the next step. Students should know how to read the abacus, move the abacus, and add and subtract on the abacus (soroban).
