These Monthly Self Portrait Book Templates were created as a developmental progress tracking tool that could be turned into a book and gifted to parents at the end of the school year.

Why use templates?

• These templates can be mixed and matched monthly
• These templates are clearly labeled by month and allow teachers to track student's progress in terms of self-portrait drawings, name writing, and fine motor development
• Collect these templates and file away throughout the year. By the end of the year, you can allow students to decorate their cover page (I suggest adding a student photo to the front cover) and attach the book to show how much students have grown throughout the year

Suggestions:

• Encourage students to draw their portraits and write their name each month
• Allow students to use mirrors or look at pictures of themselves as a guide for their portraits
• On the front cover, include a photo of the child. You could add a graduation photos OR a side by side of the child from the beginning of the year to now!
